History: William was born 7 years before the Gerudo Gannondorf started his war against Hyrule and first set foot in the Golden land. He was born in Kakariko village to two human parents, his father a Human merchant from the Ordona Province, and his mother a human Hylian and daughter of a General in the Hyrulian army living in Kakariko village. When William was 6 months old his mother and father moved to Ordon Village back in Ordona Province where his father opened up a small store. It was here where William's siblings where born and where William was raised on the farm in relative peace.
When William was 7 was when the war against Ganondorf began. Most of his mothers family living in Hryule moved to Ordona province to get away from the war and try and live without the bloodshed and darkness. William's maternal grandfather had died a year previously and his kin no longer felt any attachments to what they believed to be a dying country and wanted to live in peace. Some of his family did stay behind to fight, but even they fled to Ordona Province within a year. After the war however his Hylian family returned to help rebuild their recovered country. William and his immediate family still remained in Ordona.
William did not know much of what happened during the war as Ordona province was not as affected as Hyrule was. All he knew was what he heard in stories and news from refugees and merchants. However he felt a longing to want to fight this evil, but this was mainly due to fantasies he had of soldiers and fighting evil, of knights and romance. Nothing but fairy tales. Problem was William was a rather pudgy child, that didn't exactly fith the mold of the stereotypical hero. He was still athletic and strong for a child his age, but he was still pudgy. This was until he was 14, not wanting to be a mercant, his father arranged for him to have an apprenticeship as a hunter with a neighbor of theirs. This neighbor, Ison Talins, was a jack of all trades who was once a skilled blacksmith in Hyrule Castle town, who decided to retire to Ordona Province a few years before the war began. It was through the training with Ison that he became skilled with both a bow and a sword and became a decent tracker and hunter, slightly above average but not the best. He also was able to shed his extra weight and became a well toned and muscular person. It was through his apprentice ship he honed his skills as a story teller nad many in Ordon Village loved to here his tales. He served as a hunters apprentice until he was 18 and became a full fledged hunter. He then went into work for his father, selling what he hunted, meats and furs, in his father's shop. However at age 22, he decided that he wanted to venture of on his own, on a grand adventure, to shape his own tale and to carve his own life. He also bought a young horse he named Farina to help him travel from region to region. He used his life savings to buy Farina. So he ventured out on his own, with money given to him by his parents, which was good for William as he had spent all his savings on a horse, to see the world and decide his path in life. When asked where he was going, he said he would follow the wind, as Farore was the godesses whom he preferred the most.
Before he set out, his old friend Ison gave him a gift, a sword that Ison himself had crafted. William, was pleased with this gift and has kept it with him ever since. Since William left Ordon Village, he traveled as far as Lake Hylia, visting Kakariko, the village of his birth, and even traveling to the home of the Goron, and managed to get lost many times in the lost woods, though lucky for him he followed the winds and found his way out.. He used his skills as a story teller to gain rupee's to buy things that he needs, and employed his skills as a hunter for food. William used the money given to him by his parents to purchase a home near Lake Hylia, to be a place to stay during times in which he wants a rest from his travels. He also manages to stay in touch with his family and visits Ordon Province once a year, to visit his family and talk and learn from his mentor. Throughout his three years of travel William has learned much from those around himand has gained a better view of the world. However, because he moved around from place to place, he hadn't been involved in many conflicts because he hadn't been in the right place at the right time. RP Sample: It had been 3 long years since William had left Ordon Village to go out and see the world and go out on his own. They were 3 good years full of travels and adventures, things he wouldn't trade for the world. He did of course miss his family back in Ordona Province, but he was on his own now living his dreams, making his own path. He had recently gone back to see them, and all was good. And though he regretted not having his own family like his two younger brothers who were both married by the time William left Ordon Village. Though William would like to be married and there were many pretty girls whom he was interested in, he just never met the right one. Besides he loved the bachelor life, and would not trade his travels for anything.
It was a beautiful day around Lake Hylia, as William layed on the grass infront of the lake, he was taking a nap, and pondering where his journey would take him next. For though he had been traveling the last 3 years he hadn't traveled past Lake Hylia,he had mainly stayed in areas in the Eldin and Faron provinces and Lake Hylia was the only area of the Lanayru province. The last 3 years he had spent exploring Death Mountain and searching the lost woods for the famed Kokiri village. However, he never found the village, he did visit the land of the Goron's and shared many stories with them.
"Where will I go next?" William said to himself as he looked out at the glistening water infront of him. "The desert, the land of the Zora's, or maybe I should finally travel to Hyrule castle town."
Truth be told, William had never traveled to Hyrule Castle town, and though he had traveled throughout the region for years. He had never really traveled there before. He knew most of the Faron and Eldin Provinces like the back of his hands, as well as Ordona, but there was still more to see in the world. A lot of Hyrule yet to discover. There were even the far of lands of Labrynna and Holodrum, that William wanted to see, and he had all of his life left to do it.
"Who cares if I never settle down," William said standing up. "My life will not be a waste, because there is so much more to do." William then picked up his sword from the ground and fastned the belt attached to the scabbard. He then walked over to his horse Farina and got into the saddle. William check to make sure that his bow and quiver where attached to the side of the saddle and then he took the reins and turned Farina until she was facing north. He looked out into the horizon. He then smiled as the wind began blowing towards the north.
"I will travel wherever the winds take me."
